Motivation Monday

Women's History Month continues! Today we are celebrating Alice Walker. Alice is an American writer who is most notably known for writing "The Color Purple." What we didn't know is that her writing journey began because she was accidentally blinded in one eye as a child, so instead of doing chores, her mom gave her a typewriter and she began to write. (Talk about RESILIENCE ).

Alice went on to get a scholarship to college and then she got heavily involved in the Civil Rights Movement. She wrote many short stories, poems, and novels. Her novel, "The Color Purple" won a Pulitzer Prize, was later adapted into a movie, and eventually turned into a musical produced by the queen herself, Oprah.

We love sharing these stories because every woman from history has her own incredible journey of strength, resilience, and overcoming obstacles. Thank you, Alice, for inspiring us today.
